Why did God create people? He wanted a family...

The God described in the Bible is holy, creator and lord (sovereign) over all of creation. He is personal and created people in his image (Genesis 2:7). Genesis 1:14-16 tells us that God spoke and galaxies came into existence, yet when the earth was ready, he planted a garden and placed man there (Genesis 2:8). He made beautiful, helpful plants and animals for the man and brought them to him to see what he would call them (Genesis 2:18-20), the best being a woman (Genesis 2:21-25). Ever wonder why did God create People?

God wanted a family

God commanded mankind "be fruitful and multiply" Genesis 1:28, even after the flood he bless Noah's family with the same command (Genesis 9:1). Even after we've been rebellious he desires that we come home. Jesus describes this in the parable of the lost son (Luke 15:11-32). We are all born needing family to support us and like the lost son have arrogantly gone our own way. But the Bible teaches that we can come into God's family and he's ready to adopt us.

Ephesians 1:5 (NLT) God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
