"The Mountain" - Exodus 19 - Troy Dobbs
Six theological flaws (God and ourselves)
1. Belief God is not very different from me
- "slightly better version of me"
2. I'm really (At core) a good person
- I'm the exception, "God will lower the standard for me"
- sinful tenancy: "I'm not that bad" (1 John 1:8,9,10)
3. God isn't serious about sin
- because we aren't serious
- Jesus cross, shows seriousness
4. I deserve God's grace
- diagnostic: Are you amazed by God's grace?
5. God needs to sell me on why I should trust Him for salvation
- see history of obstinate people in the Bible and your life
6. Obedience is optional
- Don't treat God casually
