Comfort time is an idol, the world says don't over commit.
When we face opposition we should get closer to God, embrace opposition. Where can I grow as a result of this? Don't pray, "get me out of this." Pray "what do you want me to get out of this?"
- Our hardship maybe for someone else. My nephew defined hardship as "a friendship that's heard"
count all our troubles as joy
Solomon personified: what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and yet lose his soul?
- he started well but didn't finish well
- atrophy is guaranteed without intentional intervention
