No Self Made Christians: Holy Spirit begets us through faith in Jesus

Some denominational differences in churches is like that old beer commercial, "taste great" verses "less filling." The people in the church would do well to gain perspective and get into the current of God's will through prayer and his word (Acts 6:4). I'm reading Old Paths New Power and reminded of Daniel Henderson's teaching about the Christian life being like a sail boat, we let our sails up and are carried by the wind. Our part in "lifting our sails up" is devotion to prayer and ministry of the word. People don't need "our help to become Christians" they need a miracle from God to be born again.

As Jesus said in John 3:5-8, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”

  • Begotten in Jesus Christ through the good news (1 Corinthians 4:15; James 1:18)
  • Begotten by Faith, hearing the word about Christ (1 John 5:1; Romans 10:9-15)
  • Begotten because of Jesus' resurrection (1 Peter 1:3)
  • Begotten through testimony of believers (Philemon 1:10), faith expressing itself in Love (Galatians 5:6)

We understand that we don't reach the world for Christ, rather Christ is ready to reach the world through us. Let's pray daily for super-natural revival in our families, neighborhoods, schools, churches, work place, cities, counties, states, governments and world.
