Secure in God's love, Christ intercession through all hardship (Romans 8:31-39)

Romans 8:31-39

AIM: As Christ intercedes for us, so we should intercede for others.

A) Security; Jesus continues intercession on our behalf
31a) What shall we say then...

  • Abraham's faith - Romans 4:1
  • Sin and grace - Romans 6:1
  • Law and sin - Romans 7:7
  • God's justice - Romans 9:14
  • Gentiles righteousness - Romans 9:30

31b) If God is for us, who can be against us?

  • 32) God's Son given for us, graciously given all things
  • 33) Noone can charge whom God justifies
34) Jesus Christ died, raised to life, is at right hand of God, interceding for us (Romans 8:27)

  • My intercessor is my friend, as my eyes pour out tears to God Job 16:20;
  • He made intercession for the transgressors Isa 53:12; 
  • He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him BECAUSE he always lives to intercede for them in God's presence Heb 7:25; 9:24; 
  • If anybody sins, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One 1Jn 2:1

35) Can we be separated from Christ Love?
36) Does hardship mean we aren't loved?
37) No, despite these hardships victory our through Christ who loved us
38) Nothing separates us from God's love (physical, spiritual, emotional, hell
39) No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
