The Art of Scalability helps both technical and nontechnical decision-makers, covers everything that impacts scalability, including architecture, processes, people, and organizations. I'm reminded of Lead first, manage second this book gave me a great insight: "Mission First, People Always"

  • Leadership function consisting of personal characteristics, skills, experiences, actions, & approaches.
  • Leadership brings clarity to teams and provides a vivid description of an ideal future (vision) as well as a roadmap to get there (mission)
    • Goals are the guideposts to your vision and consistent with the path of your mission. SMART
  • Leadership is the influencing of people to accomplish a specific objective

Role clarity: RASCI (Supportive added)
Organizational structure (Functional, Matrix) can either hinder or help a team’s ability to produce and support scalable applications. (Scale).

. Great leadership, serves as an accelerator for growth, allowing organizations to grow in total size and in output per individual. By becoming a better leader, you can increase the capabilities and capacity of your organization and your company.
