How does being in Christ, set us free from sin?

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death...And he (Jesus) who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. ...Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Romans 8:1-2,27,34 NIV

  •  My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God (Job 16:20), while Job's life is caving in (Job 16:1-17) he sees Christ through heartfelt tears and prayer (Job 16:18-21)
  • The Anointed One, Messiah was prophesied to make intercession for the transgressors (Isaiah 53:12), having poured out his life unto death - he bore the sins of many
  • Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. (Hebrews 7:25)
  • The ascended Christ enter heaven and now appears for us in God's presence (Hebrews 9:24)
  • Christ's love and faithfulness atoned for our sin, we avoid evil through fear of the LORD (Proverbs 16:6), but if we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One (1 John 2:1)

Thank you Lord for buying my freedom and giving me new life. Let me use my life for good, helping others in your name (Matthew 25:34-36). I make plans and pursue goals but it's you who established my steps (Proverbs 16:9). Teach me to number my days, give me a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). Thank you for my family, friends, and acquaintances who have died, showing the brevity of life (Psalm 39:4), thank you for the pains in my own body showing me how fragile my own life is, yet all that you've given me to do will be accomplished in your perfect time (Psalm 139:16, Eph 2:10).

In Christ, I am a new creation. Free to live righteously, giving my life for the benefit of others, to the glory of God.
