Holiday Hermeneutic - Jesus the reason for the season

A few years ago I put together a little custom Bible track I called Holiday Homiletic for Christmas, inside was a table containing a summary, verse reference and then the verse written out.  On the back it said "Jesus is the reason for the season" with a candy cane "J". This Bible track was to help me meditate on key scriptures I could use to tell the people what's going on in the Christmas story on a deeper level than the facts we typically talk about (Mary, Joseph, a manger, shepherds, angels, a bright star and wise men with gifts). I later put these scriptures in a frame and gave them to my foster grand-mother Judy Lewis, as a parting gift in remembrance of all the wonderful conversations we had about our Lord Jesus.

He became like us	Hebrews 2:14-17	For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest
Though he is unlike us	Hebrews 4:15	For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
To reconcile us to God	2 Corinthians 5:11-21	All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.
Through Faith and Love	Romans 10:17; 1 John 4:10	Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
We have Eternal life with God	John 3:16-21, 33-36	Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
