Exodus 25-31

AIM: God has done everything needed for us to dwell with him.

A) God shows Moses details of his dwelling place the Tabernacle

(25:1-9) LORD’s dwelling place tabernacle: bring offering supplies for my sanctuary, my pattern

(10-22) Ark hold covenant law: gold around acacia, permanent poles to carry, atonement cover, Lord above meets and gives commands

( 23-30) Table:  rings around where four legs, used to carry it, dishes are gold

(31-40) Lampstand: 3-1-3 almond flowers 1 piece of pure gold, according to pattern shown on mountain

(26: 1-6) Tabernacle: 10 curtains purple, blue, scarlet with cherubim woven into them

(7-25) eleven goat hair curtains tent over tabernacle, w/ ram skins, 20 frames, 40 silver bases, corners double bottom to top, 8 frames, sixteen bases silver 2 under each frame

(26-37) also make Crossbars 5 for frames on all sides and center, entrance embroidered

(27:1-8) Altar of Burnt offering: horn at each corner (one piece) bronze. Polls in rings mobile, hollow, shown on mountain (8)

(9-19) Courtyard: curtains and tent posts (100 cubits north, south, 50 cubits east, west)

(20-21) oil for Lampstand olive oil Aaron and sons keep it burning evening to morning for generations to come

B) Instructions for Priest sacred clothes and  work inside the Tabernacle

(28:1-5)  Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, Ithamar priests with sacred garments/dignity and honor, skilled workers

( 6-14) Ephod: two onyx stones engraved with names of sons of Israel, ordered by birth – shoulder pieces

(15-30) Breast piece: for making decisions, family close to heart, 4 rows with 3 precious stones with each name of Israel’s sons

(31-43) Other Priestly Garments: Robe w/bells, turban w/plate of gold ‘Holy to the Lord’ , tunic, sashes/caps anointed/ordained, undergarments

(29:1-26) Consecration of Priests, slaughter young bull, 2 rams without defect, sin, burnt, blood offering. loaves without yeast, olive oil wave offering

(27-34) Let the last ram be for priest, burn the leftovers in the morning

(35-46) Tent of meeting (42), dwell among them, they will know I am Lord their God (44-46) 7 days to ordain them, a bull per day for sin/atonement/purify/holy. Offer two lambs each day morning, twilight pleasing aroma, food offering to the Lord

(30:1-10) Altar of Incense: altar in front of curtain that shields ark of covenant law, fragrant incense every morning and twilight, burns regularly. Annual Atonement blood of atoning sin offering- MOST HOLY to the Lord (10)

(11-16) Atonement Money: census, pay Lord ransom lives

(17-21) Basin for Washing: wash so not die (20)

(22-33) Anointing oil, sacred (25), to consecrate tabernacle items to be MOST HOLY (29)

(34-28) Incense: front of ark, MOST HOLY (36) unholy use is forbidden, punishment banished (38)

C) God supplies the talent to make it happen and commands Sabbath observance

(31:1-11) Lord appoints Bezalel (Judah) filled with Spirit of God,  Oholiab (Dan) to help him do all He commanded

(12:1-18) Lord: Observe my Sabbaths it is holy to you, desecraters death, workers cut off from people. 7^th day rest in the provision of CREATOR God (17), LORD gave covenant law in stone, inscribed by the finger of God (18)
