Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Luke 11:2, Matthew 6:9)

Enjoying kingdom-come-prayer based on Luke 11:2. Excited to have started Alpha Series 21 at MNTC this week and have been in prayer for A.J., Marcus, Stacy, Liam, and Skyler. We talked about the joy of family and children, helping me remember my nieces and nephews and extended cousins and aunts and uncles. Life with family is a blessing and God wants us to tell us about it. That's what I think heaven is all about. In Alpha we think about what we would ask God. "Tell me about yourself" and "Show me who has come before me" and "Help me understand how Father, Son, and Spirit are one"

Lord, I believe you will tell us and show us and help us as we've asked. Thank you for your love demonstrated in family and friends. Thank you for the good things you are doing in our society and for bringing so many faithful helpers into my life. Where we be without you and without people you've placed in our lives. May I never take it for granted and give me a willing heart to see your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2

Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. Hosea 14:2

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly…Matthew 6:6-8

Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. Isaiah 63:16

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:9

To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7

And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? 2 Chronicles 20:6

The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. Psalm 11:4

Hallowed.

Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. Leviticus 10:3

 - Israelites learn God’s requirements for atonement and lifelong sanctification (Leviticus 1-10:20)

Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted. Leviticus 22:23

Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name. 1 Kings 8:43

And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you…Luke 10:9-11

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it…Isaiah 2:2-5

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever Daniel 2:44

Faith, Hope, and Love last forever but the greatest is Love (1 Cor 13:13)

Verbs of love, regarding people (in relationship) to win people: patient, long-suffering, kind, active good-will,
  • Love doesn't have these attitudes and mannerisms: not envious (desire for or against), not boasting (boasting in what someone can't have), not arrogant (proud people don't listen), not rude (good manors, please and thank you), not a bully, not irritable, not grouchy, not holding grudges, not keeping score
  • Love is true and truthful, bears all things, not joyful in catching people
  • Love believes the best in people, favorable outcomes, hopes all things, keeps on hoping after faith. Love is optimistic.
  • Love endures all things. It's a stronghold. Refuse to stop loving. Love is tenacious, has grit -Bulletproof.
  • Love leads to effective ministry.
  • Love should inform every gift and relationship

Jesus mission to ransom us and our mission to tell others of him

Then Jesus began to tell them that the Son of Man must suffer many terrible things and be rejected by the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but three days later he would rise from the dead.
Mark 8:31 NLT

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45 NLT

“When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.
Mark 13:9 NLT

Rev Z. Gan Je

Jesus knew why he was here. He knew what it would cost. He knew his purpose, not to be served, but to serve and give his life as ransom for many. He knows what will happen to his followers. He told us to tell about him when brought before the rulers.

Heading to Myanmar in July Aug

Dear friend, use this free resource to hear the Word of God in your languages.

24 “‘“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’ Numbers 6:24-26 New International Version (NIV)
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; 9 not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. 10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. Ephesians 2:8-10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
