Sermon info
AIM: You can stand strong by God’s provision in Jesus

We are at war, not with people but against Satan and spiritual forces of evil. So know your enemy and don’t fight naked, rather put on the full armor of God. Know that the battle is won, but until the last day we still have work to do. Be encourage, strengthened and equipped to stand strong by God's provision in Jesus.

"God has sent his Son, left his Spirit and provide the protection and weapons we need to stand" - Troy Dobbs (John 14-15, especially John 15:26-27)

First Key: Knowing the schemes of Satan (Ephesians 6:11, Genesis 3, Matthew 4), masquerade as angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:15) came to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10)
  • Doubt
  • Discouragement
  • Diversion (Distraction)
  • Defeat
  • Delay

Second Key: Knowing the real enemy (Ephesians 6:12, 1 John 4:1-6)
  • Our enemy is not people
    • Christians love people (John 13:34-35, 15:12)
      • Even those who hate us (Matthew 5:43-48)
      • Even those who hurt us, steal from us, forces labor and begs of us (Matthew 5:38-42)
      • Even those who have nothing to offer us (Matthew 6:1-4)
      • Super natural agape love (1 Corinthians 13) because we have the love of Father through Jesus Christ (1 John 4:7-21)
    • We treat people as we wish to be treated (Matthew 7:12)
      • We want all people to come to saving relationship with God, Jesus Christ.
        • Not a watered down gospel without requirements (Matthew 5:17-20)
        • Not letting them be deceived by false prophets who do not teach repentance from sin to God (Matthew 7:15-23)
      • We want to help people live for God (Matthew 7:24-27), knowing they are children of God (John 1:12, Child of God verses)
  • Our enemy is not material poverty (Matthew 6:19-33)

Third Key: Knowing how to dress (protect yourself! Ephesians 6:13, 14-17)
Fastening the belt of Truth means living sincerely, honestly, candidly before God and others
Purity
Putting on the breastplate of Righteousness means we guard our hearts
Integrity

Fourth Key: Know how to handle God’s Word (God's Word)
All you need is God’s Word (It is written!) If Jesus relied on the word of God, how much more do we need to rely on God’s word!

Fifth Key: Know how to pray (Prayer)
“Prayer pulls down heavenly power and authority so we can stand against the enemy.” - Troy Dobbs
