Get Fully Engaged with my Church

How should a Christian think about his calling
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 ESV

Romans 12Fully Engaged: Fully Engaged With My Church

Hands of Jesus statue was missing the caption said "Come to me..." So the church changed the caption and said our hands are the only hands

Romans 1:5;12:3 We should be humbled by the grace God gave us, in gifts to serve

Extent of it: It's everyone among us, all Christians. Not to think more highly than he ought to
Ephesians 4:7, we've all been given grace. Saved by grace, called to serve by his grace - to bring glory to his Name (1 Peter 4:7-11).

Exclusion: don't think more highly than we ought to think. Don't get proud, we are all on the same level. 1 Peter 5:5, submit to one another in humility, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble

Soberly, with the measure of faith received.

Humility: not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less.

1 Peter 4:10

Pride before destruction, humility before success. Humble and hungry
Romans 12:4-5, We all have Spiritual gifts. Living as one body together. Everyone on earth who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is in this one body.

God has given each of us a ministry, There is a recipient of that ministry within the body. 1 Cor 12:4-6,11 Diversity but same Spirit giving these gifts. Unity in the differences.

Snow: every snow flake is unique and different. Amazing diversity. Only language that matters is love. Gal 5:6 (only thing that matters is Faith expressing itself in love).

1 Cor 12:12: One body in Christ. The body of Christ is the answer to all the worlds problems.

Fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139)

Family of God, harmony of the church Ephesians 4:16 unity, edification and growth spiritually and numerically. God has called you to be involved - no spectators it's not a spectator sports.
Your spiritual health depends on you being fully engaged in the church. Gift is to be used, gift must be given.

Romans 12:6 - Let us use our gifts!
God is not waiting for perfect people his is waiting for willing people who say yes and then do it. Isaiah 6:8. The only gift that matters is "availability". Wowza!

Take an inventory of the Spiritual gifts you've received (Romans 12, 1 Cor 12)

How can a diverse group of musicians come together to play beautifully together? They submit their will to the conductor. We're like that. We submit to Jesus.

"I don't need the church"  -  the church needs you!

  • When you little mom brought you church, when you married you spouse brought you to church. When you die your friends bring you to church. How about come to church on your own?

The church is what God wants to use in this world today. The head of this church is Jesus Christ himself. Our citizenship is heaven. We need to accomplish the goal of reaching this world for Jesus Christ.
