God's Sovereignty and our free will like Google maps

I was studying the life of Joseph in at http://m.grace.church/message-series/298

My friend Nancy had a great analogy about God's sovereignty and our free will. God has plans in mind, our sin and the sin of others can put us on a different route and that can prolong the journey.  But we'll get to the place God is taking us.

Here's my notes from today's passage
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Gen+45-50&version=esv

Life goes on. Blessings at last
 - after death bury me with ancestors
 - 49:22-26, Jacob: 142 years old
17 years in Egypt,  gathered to his people
Embalmed for 40 days, all Egypt mourned 70 days

Gen 50:20-21
110 years, honored death

Bless kids and grandchildren
 - remember them, know them
 - blessings that that are suitable to them Gen 29:28
 - your words matter
Understand God is sovereign
 - you meant evil, but God meant it for good
 - Joseph responded to opportunity for revenge with grace
 - Romans 8:28; embrace God's sovereignty and you will be set up for victorious Christian living
 - Peace and security in God's ordering your steps

Use your remaining years
 - Joseph used his remaining years to leave a legacy
 - lived a life of grace, peace with family and friends

Don't forget the ultimate family reunion
 - one day family reunited with those who have passed on 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
 - encourage one another
 - family you've never met

Don't forget Jesus as we study Joseph
 - Joseph forgiveness, points to Jesus forgiveness
 - brothers, sin, suffering, sent ahead, burial...kinsman redeemer
 - we are like brothers,  Jesus like Joseph
