Praise God who comforts us, so we can comfort others (2 Cor 1:3-4)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3‭-‬4 NIV

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 2:1‭-‬2 NIV

The pessimist complains about the wind, the optimist expects the wind will change, the leader adjust his sails

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
- Praise, worship and thanksgiving
- Focus on God, who he is
- Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”  ...Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. John 14:8‭, ‬10 NIV
- “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me...“All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. John 15:26,16:1 NIV

God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
- “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.  But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.  He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.  All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” John 16:12‭-‬15 NIV

our Lord Jesus Christ
- he is OUR Lord, we get along with eachother, United in Christ.
- (Jesus prays) "For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.  Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent... (John 17:2-3) whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17)
- (Jesus prayer continues) And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.    “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.  Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.  For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.  I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours....  Sanctify them by  the truth; your word is truth.  As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.  For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.    “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
John 17:5-‬9‭, ‬17‭-‬20 NIV

the Father of compassion
- Compassion is deep personal empathy and sympathy
- Bible praises God as "Father of..."; lights

and the God of all comfort
- fulfilling the law of love
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be that person?

who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.  This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
- Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.  This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.

Thank you God for saving me, for giving me your Spirit to cheer and to guide, to comfort with warmth when I'm cold and refreshing when afflicted. Thank you for your loving kindness that leads us to repentance and your empowering grace enabling us to follow where you lead. Keep me near your heart. In Jesus name.
