Building faith, praying in Spirit, keeping in God's love (Jude 1:20-21)

I've had the pleasure of meeting a few men over the years who have mentored and guided me, answered questions and helped me find my path. In retrospect, they entered my life at the perfect time. Years ago, I heard Billy Graham give a talk on faith. He said everyone has faith. We have faith when we drive our car over a hill, that nobody will be driving down the wrong side of the road and crash into us. My mentors built up my faith in that they were able to tell me what was on the other side of the hill. Doing the right work, in the right way with the right motive is really at the core of all good advice. Faith is believing that my choices today will affect tomorrow. Christian Faith is daily being connected to God's love through prayer in the Holy Spirit.

Jude emphasizes that our faith impacts others. This goes against the world's view that faith should be in 'yourself'.

Notice the advice on building faith, praying in the Spirit and keeping in God's love is in a community. Words like "friends, each other, yourselves, those who are...others...their lives"

Prayer:
Lord, help me to lead weekly Bible study this year at work, BSF and in my heart with you. That I would show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others from the flames of judgment, while showing mercy to others. Help me to hate sins that contaminate my life and bring you dishonor.
