God is not present in our arguments

My new friend Lyle was answering the question, how does a believer cause another believer to stumble today? And how might too much concern over disputable matters destroy the work of God? He made the statement "God is not present in our arguments".

Reminds me of the serenity prayer: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference"

How not to argue?
Love and accept one another
Pray for one another
Tell the truth to each other
Be kind to one another
Bring joy to each other
Serve one another
Be patient with each other
Comfort one another
Forgive one another
Be generous with each other
Honor each other
