Learn from the past and stay humble (1 Cor 10:1-13)

1 Corinthians 10:1-5,6
Historically, people followed Moses. ALL
- under God
- Baptized
- ate same spiritual food and drink (Christ)

Yet God wasn't pleased

6) Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.
7-10)
- Idolatry, eating/drinking, sexual immorality
- testing the Lord/Christ, they died by snakes
- grumbling, destroyed by an angel

11) These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us (Numbers 21:4-9 ;John 3:3-15)

12) We must be careful with our posture in Christ, so we don't fall into temptation (like has happened historically, see idolatry, immorality, grumbling).
13) all temptations are common to all. But God won't let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
- No temptation has overtaken you...But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Cor 10:13
