Spiritual gifts, at least one gift at salvation (1 Cor 12:1-3)

Gifts given when we are born again.
It's equipping for service, not for personal fame. To build the church not our selves. Gift not based on our talents.

Gifts are super natural abilities sovereignly given. A channel through which the Spirit builds Jesus Christ church. It's important to understand what the gifts are.

Gifts answer what direction I should go in ministry, service.

Church is not a spectator sport. All have equally important role on the team. Our engagement is vital for us to be effective.

We should see amazing diversity of gifts.
- salvation army,  not football team
- encourage others to "run their own race"

9 trends to watch out for
1. Elitism - superior to others, rather than humility ("I'm the only one "). Be careful, gifts are given.
2. Tribalism- only with people who "be like me" increasingly narrow in their thinking. I'm the only one in heaven.  Love everyone,  not just those in your theology tribe
3. Anti-intellectualism- think
4. "God told me" group - if it doesn't come true, they should be open to questions. Receive godly accountability. We should be careful when using God says, have book, chapter and verse.
5. Gifts oppession - be grateful for salvation
6. Denial of the ordinary - "miracle a minute lives" rather it's a long obedience in the same direction. Toughest thing about the Christian life is that it's so daily
7. Demon obsession- spiritual battle, not fresh and blood. Focus on Jesus not demons
8. Peer pressure to perform- kneel, raise hands, speak tongues.  Have the same experience as me. Everyone is different, experience God differently. I want you to have an encounter with God.
9. experience only - rather than on Scripture,  experience bows to Scripture. Any experience doesn't align with the Bible
10. Unaccountability  - Any area you refuse Accountability
