Extraordinary John Bevere
God desires us to live this way and it pleases him.
- 1 John 2:6 - walk as Jesus walked, commanded
Expectation to walk as Jesus did
= John 1:16-17, Grace and truth through Jesus Christ
In his fullness we've received
- Listen to this
Of his fullness….WE'VE all received
Completeness is imparted to us
2 Peter 1:3-4, given to us, his nature to become part of us
- promise
- massive promise
NKJV - partakers in the Devine nature
- nature
1 John 4:17, as he is so are we in this world
- right now (resurrected Son of God)
- not someday, right now we are children of God
Born again of the incorruptible seed
- ? yes but the seed must die to become the plant (as Jesus illustrated)
His nature is imparted on the inside, "Gal 2:20 I no longer live but Christ in me"
- anointed one living on the inside
Fullness of nature is connected with grace of God - Grace for Grace John 1:16-17
- abundance of grace (grace for grace)
- richest abundance of grace
- Law contrasted with grace, grace and truth through Jesus Christ (Matt 5:21-28),"you have heard …but I say to you"
- truth runs with grace, Jesus has higher standard than the law… but he gives the power (grace) to live in "grace and truth" - calling someone a fool is saying they are godless (the fool says in his heart there is no God).
- If you hate your brother you can't love God.
People used to be constrained by the law, "Moses permitted…"
- truth can be brought out be grace, I can walk in truth…. Wow Jesus defines truth and gives grace. Yes I will or no I won't.
Matthew 5:3-48, 48 MSG, what's new or different? You are to be perfect as you Father in heaven is perfect (must be AMP). - not "should be"
Preach of his fullness, words are seeds
The free empowerment of Grace is transferred through words
- 2 Peter 1:….
Matt 7:13, Jesus condemns religious authorities - who nullified the word
He holds up all things by the word of His power, not the power of His word.
- His word above his name? Wowza? Really?
Teaching of men will nullify God's word - rendering it useless. Double Wowza!
- we hold back maturity when we don't preach rightly God's true promises
Romans 6:14, Sin has no dominion over you, under grace/truth
- sin can't tell me how to live
Truly born again Roman 6:6-7, no longer dominated.
Grace with mercies rules (I thought it was two sides to one coin) - it's complete
- mercy when we don't get what we deserve
- grace when we get what we deserve
