Christianity is historical, doctrinal, relational, and Universal

Having assurance gives confidence.
1 John is about being certain.

Why do we follow Jesus Christ?
 - Christianity is historical
We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.
1 John 1:1 NLT

Christianity is not following rules, it's following the person of Jesus Christ.
 - Lies or eye witnesses accounts?

Our faith is not allegorical ideas to help us be moral and successful. It's grounded in historical facts verified in sciences; geography, geology, anthropology, etc. Christianity is about God coming to us and not what we do for God. Not "all that matters is being a good person."

Everyone believes in something
 - grace or works
It's not our merits but his mercy. We can never do enough to cover our sin. Only God can do this.

Christianity is relational, fellowship with the Father and son. Deeper relationships with eachother.
We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3 NLT

Christianity is universal, this is for you. Join us and make our joy complete.
We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.
1 John 1:4 NLT
