God Promises the kingdom to those who love him and make peace (James 2:8, Matthew 5:9)

Favoritism (partisan, bias, inclination) is inconsistent with God’s character (James 2:1, Rom 2:11, Eph 6:9, Acts 10:34). He is impartial (fair, equal, unbiased) when dealing with people (Psalm 145:9).
 - Interesting that Jesus tells of God's impartiality in between to love statements (Matthew 5:44-46)
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same?
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. (Matthew 5:9)
 - Favoritism is antithetical to the gospel. We can favor some teachings of Jesus or some proverbs but the litmus test is love. Jesus teaches love precedes obedience and the indwelling Holy Spirit (John 14).

What is Love?
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. - Luke 6:35
By your love, ALL men will know that you are Jesus' disciples (John 13:35)
But how do we know God loves us? The physical sun and rain (Matthew 5:45) and the spiritual "rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness." (Acts 14:17). He makes us into spiritual "lights shining in this world" (Phil 2:15)
