Being Salt and light, not intellectual or behavior

listening to Being salt and light by David Pawson, radical changes in cultures and society happen when only 5% of the population becomes the SALT and LIGHT Jesus spoke of the qualities; "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven both now and forever with #1 and #8). Being salt and light is about reality and relationship with God - not belief or behavior modification.

  1. Poor in spirit (devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant)
  2. mourn (Blessed [forgiven, refreshed by God’s grace] are those who mourn [over their sins and repent], for they will be comforted [when the burden of sin is lifted].)
  3. meek (self-control, it's impossible without God)
  4. crave righteousness (actively seek right standing with God)
  5. merciful (content, sheltered by God’s promises)
  6. pure in heart (Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God)
  7. peacemaker (Blessed [spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor] are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they will [express His character and] be called the sons of God.)
  8. persecuted because of righteousness. (Blessed [comforted by inner peace and God’s love] are those who are persecuted for doing that which is morally right, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].
Luke shows what is right

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟓:𝟏𝟑-𝟏𝟔; "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝟏𝟒:𝟑𝟒-𝟑𝟓; Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out.

5% of salt in the soil helps it be fruitful (potassium), salt on manure is a disinfectant.

As I was reading this, I thought I'd look up what I interpreted in Jesus' parables and was shocked not to have salt as one of them. Just the lamp:

The Lamp under a Bushel Matthew 5:14–15 Mark 4:21–25 Luke 8:16–18 Light for all to see, learning by listening and results in abundance (Luke 8:15) or ruin (Luke 8:12-14). Notice Luke 8:10 says "secrets of kingdom of God" and Luke 8:17 says, "Nothing secret will not be known"

I'd like to see what's in between Luke 8 and Luke 14 for more context between Salt and Light.
