We pray to God in the presence of people, not to people (Heb 12:22-25, Matt 6:5-8)

"...you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel. Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking..." Heb 12:22-25

"When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!" Matt 6:5-8

How interesting life is. I've just turned 50 and have been thinking about God promises obeying Sabbath and Jubilee years bring blessings. Last year was a personal year of Jubilee (7x7=49) (Days of Elijah) yet I've found my heart has been holding God's decrees with contempt, through arrogant disobedience. Lev 26:14-46, woe to me, Lord forgive me and help me to renounce my pride - help me to see clearly and walk in your ways in spirit and truth. Help me to pray and not give up, knowing you see everything. I surrender my contemptuous attitude toward you, myself, and others.
