Jesus talked about urgency more than we are comfortable with.
Two commands. One about the road you choose. One about the day you cannot predict.
34. Take the Narrow Gate
Matthew 7:13-14
Jesus said to enter through the narrow gate.
The highway to destruction is wide and the gate is broad, and many choose that way. But the gateway to life is small and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.
He is honest about it. The easy road is crowded for a reason. It is easy.
The world says: All roads lead to the same place. Do not be so narrow.
But God's Word says: There is a narrow gate, and it leads to life.
Narrow does not mean mean-spirited. It means specific. There is a way, and Jesus is it.
35. Be Ready
Luke 12:40
One verse. You must be ready all the time, because the Son of Man will come when least expected.
Jesus did not give a date. He gave a posture.
The world says: There is plenty of time. Get to it later.
But God's Word says: Live today like he could come today.
Being ready is not about fear or charts or predictions. It is about not having a list of things you are putting off until later.
Ask yourself: If today were the day, what would I wish I had already done? Go do that one.
