Prayer for Media, National Day of Prayer 2015

Heavenly Father, we praise you for your wisdom, faithfulness and mercy. You are the beginning and the end, proving your love throughout the generations.[1] You’ve given us the Way, the Truth and the Life – your one and only son Jesus Christ.[2] You’ve provided everything needed to really know Jesus by your Holy Spirit in the Bible.[3] We know from our past that your provision and good news is useless to people without faith.[4] So Lord God I ask that you renew our faith and draw many more people to you even now as I speak these words, in Jesus name.[5] Help me to pray for the media that the words I say would be in harmony with your will.[6]

God we confess our sins[7] of apathy and distraction as we are so easily led away[8] from the good work you’ve given us[9]. Help us to repent Lord, to renew in our hearts the Joy of your salvation.[10] That we would teach the next generation about your faithfulness. Wake us up Lord to your will in our lives.[11]

God we confess that we are corrupt and we spend our time foolishly[12]. We seek pleasure in media apart from you and find no pleasure in it, only guilt, separation and shame.[13] In our hearts Lord, we come into the light of your presents and confess our sins to you. Revive us Lord, breathe life into our dry bones, turn our heart of stone into a heart of flesh.[14] Make us pure and holy that we would spend our time, from this moment forward living for you, in your Way, that we would be filled with everlasting joy that would be evident in all that we do.[15]

For those who have done wrong in the media I pray your life giving forgiveness and mercy – restore them to yourself for your glory. Help us not to condemn but to extend your grace in its various forms.[16] Help us to share the good news of your life, death, resurrection and certain return. That what was previously intended for evil you would use for our good and your glory.[17]

God by your Holy Spirit would you warn those who call evil good and good evil, those who draw sin along with cords of deceit. [18] Like Isaiah, I am a man of unclean lips, I live among a people of unclean lips, yet God in your grace you’ve touched me, taken away my guilt and paid for my sin, you have called me out of darkness and into your light, I’ve heard your call and will announce the Good News of the Kingdom of God and trusting in You completely for the outcome.[19]

Let us use all the available media to spread your message to the end of the earth, that many would be saved from the judgement to come and be brought into eternal life, starting today, In Jesus name we pray AMEN![20]
