Empowering is the act of giving someone the authority or power to do something

I was reading Karen Keller on servant leadership and seven influence traits. She says, "Empowering is the act of giving someone the authority or power to do something. The recipient of an empowerment becomes stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights. Empowerment happens when we make a practice of sharing information, rewards, and power with others so they can take initiative and make a decision to solve problems and improve their lives.

Jesus said at his resurrection, "you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses." This power is God's grace in our lives, 2 Cor 12:9 says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." We know that the Lord goes with us (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Jesus said while he was like us, "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:19-20)

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. (2 Peter 1:3-4)
