It is not self seeking
God is love, we are called to love God, we are called to love others.
We can't project human experiences on to God.
Psalm 19:1, creation praises the creator
Happiness and joy is found in praising God.
Not Commands, but an invitation to happiness and joy.
Matthew 26:36-39, Jesus didn't demand his own way. This is love, not that we love God but he loves us even while we were still enemies.
We need to come to God as a sacrifice, a servant - Luke 9:23, Roman's 12:1-2
Two types of houses, a fixer upper (good borns), a teardown (start over). Christianity is the second.
Don't be selfish with God, loose your life to find it.
Don't be selfish with others. Laziness, distraction. Serving to get away. Not having an opinion, letting others choose.
Doesn't insist, but does have a will and opinion.
- give and receive, joy in oneness of marriage
- allow the other to feel the joy of giving love
Prayer: more of your heart in me, help me to trust you in everything.
- give your cares to the Lord and walk in the authority given to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with the Lord.
- our job is to be faithful. Well done, good and faithful servant.
