When I see I'm pretending, there is still hope for today

Reading Wiersbe, Be Real (1 John): Turning from Hypocrisy to Truth (The BE Series Commentary).
1 John 3:1-10
This lesson is on "Pretenders" this lesson continues the ideas from Resurrection is real life around counterfeit currency. It's spotted by the study of the real thing. How much of my life is "pretending"? Who are the people of God?

I've found that when it's true for us, we share it with others 1 John 1:3-4
We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.

Sonship is revealed by obedience (1 John 3), love (1 John 4) and truth (1 John 5)
 - The Spirit-controlled mind knows and understands the truth, the heart feels love, inclined toward obedience
Begin with sonship, continue with fellowship. Walking in the light: see the dirt in our lives, confess and conquer sin
Know your goal: God has destined all His children to be holy as He is holy. (1 Peter 1:16) “All who have this hope in Him purify themselves, just as He is pure.” (1 John 3:3)
