Commit to Lead in the cause of Christ without reservation

To put on Christ Righteousness is to adapt the attributes of Christ. He is gentle, humble and relaxed even while serving thousands in tight deadlines. We see this in the commandments of Jesus and when Jesus Feeds 5,000+ and Promise we will do more.

BSF leader's folio gives this helpful advice: don't just "take off sin" but put on "christ's attribute that is the opposite of it. Then Obey as far as you know, Trust as Him to give all you need, Expect him to live through you as you desperately Depend on Him. This is what is meant to die to sin and live for Christ (Colossians 3:5-17; Galatians 5:22-23). I love that the Bible is instructive in this way.

  • Don't just stop telling lies but "tell the truth" Ephesians 4:25
  • If bitterness or doubt of God’s forgiveness tempts you, “put on” Christ’s own thankfulness to God.
  • Remember that God has promised you He will cause all things to work for ultimate good if you are His child (Romans 8:28)
  • "If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need." Eph 4:28 The cure for thieves is to be hardworking and generous.
