Bread from Heaven - More than Words

From a series by Robert Morris from Gateway church
Bread
1. Our Daily Bread
Exodus 16:4; Matthew 6:11; Psalm 68:19
An “exact equivalency” translates word by word.
 - You get the allusion from one part of the text to another - ESV, AMP
A “dynamic equivalency” translates the phrase or thought
 - You get the idea in "plain English" but loose the allusion - NLT
Exodus 16:4 NLT - thought for thought
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my instructions.
Exodus 16:4 ESV - word for word
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.
Give us today the food we need, NLT vs Give us this day our daily bread, ESV
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up;   God is our salvation.  ESV
