You can't kill time without injury to eternity (1 Peter 4:1-6)

This year in SALT my co-chair Jim, wanted to change up and own SALT and Light today, where we talk about one verse and two questions with whoever comes. We started with the Fruit of Spirit Gal 5:28-29, now we have Phil 4:8 for our monthly topic, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things" this month is Noble: "righteous before God and the world noble implies moral eminence and freedom from anything petty, mean, or dubious in conduct and character."

I was just updating and migrating my bullet journal and growing in my own organizational skills. I realized that 1/3 of my day is ministry-related. So my index is now three pages with the first being the ministry index to track Alpha (Prayer, TC, Leadership, Mentoring). The SALT (Outrageous Justice, Unshakable Hope, Leadership, SALT and Light, Prayer), BSF (Dan & Ben, Leaders Meeting). The next index is project work (CDO database migration, Uplifting legacy systems, Tech evaluations) feeding into the Strategy index (DM, Arch, 1 x 1 coaching, Personal development, Reference Architecture).

God is so good, yesterday was the second week in row of going to church with my brother and mom and then having a meal afterward. We got to talk about childhood memories and our thoughts on the sermon. I'm looking forward to next week where we'll cover my life verse 1 Peter 4:7-11.

Here are my notes from 1 Peter 4:1-6 by Troy Dobbs:
1 Peter 4:1-6) Suffering in flesh, as a way of thinking like Christ. Live in the Spirit.
1) arm yourself with the same way of thinking.
- get mentally prepared. How will I spend my time?
- 2) Resist sin. Militant attitudes toward sin. Make time to battle sin or sin will steal quality time from your life.
- Sin can ruin years of hard work
God's will discovered:
- Read the Bible and pray rather than looking for signs. Following the general revelation, leads us to specific, personal revelation.
- Be the new you, not the old you. Stop wasting time doing sinful things. Move on toward godliness.
4) Unbelievers don't understand when God changing people. So they criticize what God is doing. They malign God's will.

6) reach lost people.
People need the Lord

Everyday they pass me by
I can see it in their eyes
Empty people filled with care
Headed who knows where

On they go through private pain

When will we realize people need the Lord?

We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right
What could be too great a cost
For sharing life with one who's lost?

Through His love our hearts can feel

When will we realize that we must give our lives?
