Having and protecting LIFE our thoughts, words and heart for God (John 10:10, Proverbs 4:23,Rom 5:5,Rom 12:2)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. - John 10:10

My friend and fellow intercessor Robb sent a devotional this morning. Apparently, the Minnesota Institute of Arts is asking the community to consider the paranormal, spiritual world through a special art exhibit. We do this via Alpha. Last night I led a group on the question, "How can I have faith?" and had a rich conversation with the "all-in" Christians in the group. Robb reminded me that God's plans are the best, he says;

Our world has been unknowingly duped by the enemy into believing that the principles of our God will hamper, hinder and undermine our ability to enjoy life to its fullest. This comes when a people reject God and His word and think they know better than He does...Because our culture has rejected God, the enemy is moving in and people are experiencing the other side of John 10:10, the enemy’s motive, to kill, steal and destroy.

He talked about the original language and I'm grateful for biblehub.com that gives this for free

  • life,ζωὴν (zōēn): Life, both of physical (present) and of spiritual (particularly future) existence. From zao; life.
  • in all its fullness. περισσὸν (perisson): From peri; superabundant or superior; by implication, excessive
This all makes me ponder the truths of what Jesus' mission on earth is and why he came.
 - To seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10, Matthew 18:11, John 3:16-21)
 - Pouring the Holy Spirit unto all people (Joel 2:28, John 3:1-15, Acts 2:17)
 - To die for the sins of many, bringing salvation to those who wait for him (Heb 9:27-28)
 - To intercede on our behalf (John 17, Hebrews 7:25)
 - To make us aware of God's intentions in the Law (Matthew 5-7)
 - To make us aware of God's intention for Love (John 13-16)
 - To authorize His church to make disciples (Isaiah 22:22; Matthew 16:19;18:18; John 20:23; Rev 1:18, 3:7)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. - Matthew 28:19-20

How can we experience Life in all its fullness?

  • Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it (Proverbs 4:23)
  • And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Romans 5:5)
  • Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:12)
