1 Peter 3:22 says "Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority." Peter was an eye witness to the transfiguration of Jesus (2 Peter 1:16) and at his resurrection Jesus said, "all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me (Matthew 28:18). Mark's gospel cuts to the chase, "after the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19)"
