Matthew 7:24-27 NIV
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Wise and foolish men have the same ground to work
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

The effort that it took to dig deep, is the effort it takes to consistently apply God's word to our lives.
- When have I heard God's word yet failed to apply it in every area of my life?
- see divorce and debt. God's word in our marriage and finance
- marriage 1 Peter 3:1-7 (wives win him over to God with your lifestyle), husband honor wife so your prayers will not be hindered.
- perfect peace Isaiah
- honor God,
- do all work unto to God, promotion comes from God
2 cor, bring every thought over to God
Eph 4:32, forgive one another as God forgives you.
You can't hate brother you see and love God you can't see

How to be wise
1. Applying God's word requires intentional work on my part
2. I can't apply that which I don't know. I must study the Bible
3. Failing to apply God's Word in my life means a crash is on the way
