1 Cor 7:1-16
Aim: understand healthy sexuality
1. Sex is a gift from God. He designed our bodies to enjoy sex and all that it gives us in the context of husband and wife.
- we can see what God was thinking of when we consummate our marriage
2. Sex has a context: marriage
- don't be silent, advocate truth
3. A healthy sex life (in marriage) can protect against infidelity and immorality.
- don't argue this point
- Satan wants to destroy our marriage
Sex has multiple purposes
- pleasure
- procreation
- partnership
- picture of intimacy (Christ and Church)
Sex is easy area in life to be selfish.
- sex is serving eachother in love
- not a tool of manipulation
