The angry, stay at home brother of the prodigal (Luke 15)

The whole point of Jesus in Luke 15: God loves people but people easily miss what love looks like. Sharing the Gospel is what we are set apart for. Holiness is abiding in Christ, not avoiding "unclean" people. Being right with God brings a passion for helping the lost.

How to respond to the world: Pray, humble, solution, peacemakers, Gospel, God's word, conversations, do good, love deeply, centered on Jesus.

Cornerstone joins together. Holiness extends grace abundantly.
Luke 15:1, tax collectors and sinners wanted to be around Jesus.
Pharisees and scribes were offended Luke 15:2
 - lost sheep, 99 left for 1 brought to repentance.  Luke 15:3-7 (Jesus)
 - lost coin, 1/10. Luke 15:8-10 (Holy Spirit),
 - lost son, 1/2 Luke 15:11-24 (Father), sinner comes home. Notice Jesus doesn't leave the 99 for a wayward brother - that one must come to his senses and return the Father.
 - angry son, 1/2 Luke 15:25-32

Religion focus vs Jesus focus
 - Gospel-centered (living and sharing)
 - Longevity trap: long time not love. How much do you love? Not how long have you believed?
 - Works trap: I've served...God owes me. Is God your boss or your father? Do you enjoy him?
 - Graceless: God loves people who stay, more than those who stray. Putting yourself on a pedestal.
